Can These Bones Live?

The Spirit of the Lord once showed the prophet Ezekiel a valley filled with dry bones—scattered, lifeless, and completely without hope. Then God asked him a question: “Can these bones live?” (Ezekiel 37:3)

Later, God explained that the bones represented the people of Israel. They weren’t just struggling—they felt completely spent. Dry. Disconnected. For all practical purposes, they felt dead inside. Cut off from God and from one another. Hopeless.

And then God did something unexpected.

He told Ezekiel to speak to the bones—to prophesy life, hope, and restoration. To declare that God could bring resurrection, rebuild what was broken, and restore true community rooted in relationship with Him.
