The Measure of a Mature Faith

What does it look like to be maturing in faith?

That’s an important question. And many people answer it by creating a list—attributes to develop or behaviors to master. The thinking often goes something like this: the more we understand, and the better we perform certain spiritual practices, the more mature we must be.

But there’s a danger in that approach.

The focus can slowly turn inward. Without realizing it, we can begin to think that spiritual maturity is mainly about us—about what we know, what we say, and what we are able to do.

What is Your Struggle Saying To You?

Don’t Give Up: Let Hardship Speak Before You Respond

What makes you want to quit?
Is it a harsh word, a disapproving glance, a persistent struggle, or just plain exhaustion? Most of us can point to something—or someone—that drains our energy or chips away at our purpose.

These two qualities—integrity of heart and skillful hands—lay the foundation for a life that lasts.

Integrity of Heart: The Foundation

Integrity is undivided, single-minded purpose. It keeps a life steady, like a seaworthy boat—no leaks, no detours. It’s not just an outward display but an inward reality, forged through consistency, follow-through, and trust in God’s help.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." (Proverbs 4:23)

Skillful Hands: The Execution

Skill isn’t just knowledge; it’s the ability to apply wisdom with precision. It’s emotional intelligence, timing, an...
